BIO

Frieda de Lackner is a director, producer, and actor, whose short films have screened across the country. She began her career as an actor after graduating from UC Berkeley. She worked for over ten years with Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Theatre, first as an actor, then as a director for their touring productions; educating students on violence prevention, STI prevention, and healthy eating/active living.

 

She co-produced the feature, Hold On, which was released in theaters December 2019. She is a regular director for Playground LA and other LA theatres. As an actor, she was last seen in Hearts of Palm at Central Works Theatre, for which she was nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Play by Broadway World San Francisco.

 

Her mission is to create art that has a positive effect on the people she collaborates with, and for those who experience it. ​

BY CHANCE

By Chance is a short film about two people, Neil and Sara, who meet by chance in a museum and have an instant connection. It is based on a true story that happened in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and was filmed at the American Steel Studios in Oakland, CA.
